Looking for a way to automatically turn on your HVAC based on the events in your Church Community Builder calendar? We have just the solution for you.
In this article, we will discuss setting up the integration between eSPACE and CCB. But first, let me share a few use cases of this integration:
Use Cases
This integration is not a two-way sync between Church Community Builder and eSPACE. However, it pulls data from your CCB calendar into eSPACE so we can control your HVAC, Doors, Digital Signage or Lights. You can learn more about what control systems we integrate with by going here.
This allows you to receive some of the premium integrations offered by eSPACE Event Scheduler while still keeping your events in Church Community Builder.
Note: This integration only pulls a limited amount of data at a time and will refresh in intervals of 15 minutes. However, if you are looking for a more robust calendar system than the Church Community Builder calendar, I would highly recommend eSPACE as an alternative.
Setting It Up
Step 1: You will need to create a new API user in CCB.
Step 2: The API user will need access to the event API services
Step 3: Log in to your eSPACE account, and from the left sidebar, select Settings > Other > ChMS Integrations. From available partners, select the CCB logo:
Step 4: You can enter any number of these from your CCB account.
NOTE: Make sure you change the webcal:// to http:// when pasting above or it will not work.
NOTE: This should probably be your FACILITY calendar in CCB. That’s the one that will have ALL of your events.
Step 5: You can get the .ics file from the SUBSCRIBE link at the bottom of your calendar.
Step 6: Contact support@smartchurchsolutions.com to let them know you want to activate the CCB integration. An agent will need to flip a switch on the backend to allow data to flow into your eSPACE account from an outside source.
Fifteen minutes after you enter the first data source, eSPACE will start polling CCB every 15 minutes to pull in your approved events and rooms.
Congratulations; you are now integrated with Church Community Builder!
