In this presentation they will share evidence-based best practices for planning for physical security and secure openings. In addition, Christin will provide information on resources and grants available to pay for security improvements and will provide strategies for creating successful grant applications.
Randy Jump, AHC, FDAI
Randy is an End-User Consultant for Allegion and works extensively in the K-12 market. Randy consults with schools and other large institutions to find code-complain, appropriate hardware applications for physical security challenges facing schools today. randy conducts extensive site surveys to provide customized solutions for end-users. He is a certified Architectural Hardware Consultant and is a certified Fire Door Assembly Inspector. Randy is widely recognized as a trusted advisor on physical security and an expert in door hardware.
Christin Kinman, MPH
Christin is an End-User Consultant for Allegion. She is an active member of ASIS, and sits on the Security Standards Technical Committee, which is responsible for developing an international standard for school security. She has worked with CISA, part of the Department of Homeland Security, to review its guidance documents on physical security for schools and Houses of Worship. She has been featured in multiple industry publications, and has spoken nationally about planning for physical security, the importance layered security, and how to procure outside funding for security improvements. During her tenure as a facilities project manager in the Archdiocese of Baltimore, Christin successfully obtained over $4 million in grant funding to enhance security throughout archdiocese schools and churches.
Al Frenette
Al Frenette serves as a Protective Security Advisor with the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency assigned to the State of Maryland. He serves as a security and resiliency liaison between federal, state, local and industry partners; ensuring the protection of America’s critical infrastructure across the region. Al has extensive experience as a uniformed police officer and also served 21 years in the US Navy, many of them as an NCIS Special Agent that provided law enforcement and security & contingency operations worldwide.
Rob Goldberg
With over 25 years of experience, Rob Goldberg is a seasoned lobbyist and advocate, specializing in securing federal grants and funding opportunities for nonprofit organizations. During his tenure as senior director for legislative affairs at the Jewish Federations of North America, he championed the establishment of key initiatives such as the Nonprofit Security Grant Program and the Community Innovations for Aging in Place initiative. Rob’s leadership has resulted in billions of dollars in funding for nonprofits and public service agencies nationwide. Prior to his advocacy work, he held key positions in government, including chief clerk of the United States Senate Judiciary Subcommittee on Terrorism, Technology, and Government Information. Rob holds a J.D. from Hofstra University School of Law and a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Colorado, Boulder.
